This project series, "Augmenting Everyday Moments", is a exploration on how AR glasses can help solve everyday friction points we have become numb to. These are all created with the Snap Spectacles as part of their Developer Program.

How Could AR Glasses Change the Way We Order at Restaurants?
Ever found yourself pulling out your phone at a restaurant, scrolling through Yelp or Google hoping someone posted a decent photo of the dish you’re thinking of ordering? Maybe the restaurant included a picture, maybe not. Either way, you're left guessing what your meal will actually look like.
This AR prototype reimagines the menu experience using Snap AR’s Spectacles, letting customers view true-to-size, realistic 3D scans of their food before ordering.
How I made it
For this proof of concept, I used real dishes from one of my favorite restaurants, Oven and Shaker. I scanned their food using Luma AI, turning actual meals into detailed 3D models that diners can browse in augmented reality. I then imported the scans into Lens Studio, where I built an interactive AR menu prototype.
Final Result
When the glasses detect a visual cue, they instantly launch the AR menu frame with interactive food items. Selecting a dish brings up its corresponding 3D model, along with a list of ingredients. The model appears true to scale and can be moved or resized, giving users a realistic, hands-on preview to help them make a more informed decision.
